Travel, swim, shower or dress lightly with a Simpla catheter valve
This valve is designed to be connected to the end of a Foley catheter. The lever on the valve can be moved back and forth to open and close the valve as required. The lower half of the valve is a flexible tube, drainage bags can connect to this if desired. If no further leg bags or overnight bags are connected to the valve, someone may be able to store urine in their bladder, and simply open the valve to empty the bladder as required (using a bottle, bag or directly into a toilet). If a bag is connected to the valve, the valve can be closed to allow for easy bag changing or removal. This is particularly useful if someone would like to shower or swim without a leg bag connected.
- Catheter valves should be changed every 7 days or as recommended by your medical team.
